Help from around the world

The Chin Cheras Refugee school in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia is in partnership with the International School of Kuala Lumpur (ISKL). The club, lead by student executives works to provide an outlet for the children through cooking, games, educational activities and dancing.  Every week, students from the refugee school meet with ISKL students one day, and go to classes at their small school in the city taught by volunteer adults. The Faisal Cup

ISKL hosts the annual Faisal cup in which refugee schools around the city join together in a football tournament. Parents, as well as students from international schools volunteer to coach, chaperone, referee and provide food and drinks for the whole tournament. The Faisal was named after a refugee who tragically drowned as he tried to rescue a football kicked into the Gombak river. Since then, refugee schools in Kuala Lumpur have taken part in the football tournament. The entire project is a fundraiser for the schools and is held on the International School of Kuala Lumpur (ISKL) campus.
